A beautiful desert campsite with lots of foliage that feels like it's in the middle of nowhere (there's a small town with a Walmart etc. a couple of miles away). On arrival, the camp warden gave us a map and told us to drive around and select our own site. We chose a concreted site on high ground with a grand view of a mountain range 5 miles to the west. There's lots of room between adjacent campsites which are randomly scattered around rather than arranged in serried ranks like most RV parks. The day temperatures were close to 80F but the nights were chilly. Firewood was on sale by the showers/toilets (which were excellent) on the honor system at $5 a pop, so in the evenings we loaded the campsite's brazier, lit a fire, wrapped up and drank beer (me) and wine(wife) and listened to classical music. This was about 6 weeks into a 9-week trip. We had visited small towns and played hard at being tourists. It was lovely to do nothing for a few days and this was an excellent place in which to do nothing. We'd definitely stay here again.

Great management - very friendly and helpful. Somewhat spartan park, but all the facilities were first class - especially a small store that provides a lot of basic RV needs. We'd definitely stay here again.

This park is close to I-20 with easy access to and from I-20, but sufficiently distant from it that road noise is not bothersome. We arrived after dark and found the park to be well lit and the angled pull-through parking slots facilitated ingress and eventual egress. There's plenty of grass-covered space between adjacent slots. The park is functional, well-maintained, clean and litter free. Major renovations are under way and are almost complete. The roads have been repaired and are fine. The laundry room and ladies' showers/ bathrooms have been completely remodeled; the men's equivalents are almost finished. I found no resemblance between the park in its current condition to that described in reviews posted in 2005. I strongly suggest that those earlier reviews be utterly ignored. I would stay here again. The park is under fairly new management, represented by Brenda and David, who are friendly and hospitable hosts. Their hospitality extended to us even after we left. When preparing to leave I had tossed a trash bag into a dumpster. The next day when we arrived home I learnt that my wife had stuffed all our laundry into that bag! A quick call to Brenda resulted in our laundry being retrieved and sent to us.

Friendly (and in our case, helpful) management. Lots of room between adjacent sites. Very pleasant and quiet surroundings in a valley about 2 miles north of Durango. We'd definitely stay here again.
